Lakewood Athletics welcomes all incoming 8th grade students and hopes they will plan on participating in sports once they become freshmen. And we welcome back returning athletes.
To help you prepare for summer, here is some important information.
- 8TH GRADERS - Plan on attending the Freshmen Sports Information Night on Monday, May 13th, 6 pm in the LHS Auditorium. We will be discussing what you need to know for playing high school sports and will feature break-out sessions by sport.
- The Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) prohibits high schools and coaches from communicating individually with incoming 8th graders until after May 1st. After this date, 8th graders may speak with coaches and participate in high school pre-season activities.
- The first day of practices and tryouts for the Fall 2019 sports season is Monday, Aug. 12. The first day of school for all students is Wed., Aug. 14, 2019. (Although this day may be a Freshmen only day at Lakewood. TBA).
- Fall sports include:
- Boys Golf
- Boys Soccer

- Cross County (Boys & Girls)
- Football

- Volleyball
- Pre-Season Camps for Fall Sports will typically occur the week prior, from August 5-10, except Football, which typically is the last week in July. So, you will want to make sure to end summer vacations prior to these dates. We will have more specific information in May on this web site.
