Tigers Boys Tennis win First Dual Match for 2019

The Lakewood Tigers Boys Tennis Team won their first dual match of the year.  The Tigers were ahead of Golden 4 to 1 with 2 matches to be completed before weather postponed the completion of the matches in progress.  Golden featured 3 returning first team all league singles players.  Freshman Jake Haas, playing 2 singles lost the first game then won 12 in a row!!  1 singles  Junior Michael Bennett won in a third set tiebreaker, coming back from a 1 to 5 deficit in the tiebreaker.  1 doubles Juniors Tommy Landmark and Leo Stafford won in straight sets as did 2 doubles Juniors Colin Jacobs and Xander Nobel-Rudolph.  3 doubles Sophomores Fin Reichert and Caden Snow and 4 doubles Juniors Steve Komon and Matthew Kallander will complete their matches in the near future.  Great start by the Tigers!!  The Tigers travel to ThunderRidge for a scrimmage on Thursday the 22nd and then try to defend their title at the Raptor Invitational on Friday the 23rd at Eaglecrest and Grandview High Schools.
