What is athletic training?
Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic Training is recognized by the American medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied health care profession.
Meet your Athletic Trainer:
I am a Colorado native, I went to Metro State University and I love being an athletic trainer. I played volleyball in school and currently enjoy recreational volleyball, tennis, cycling, snowboarding and paddle boarding. I take pride in teaching our athletes how to improve their well being, whether it's a nutritional lesson, rehabilitation exercise, corrective exercise or stretching technique. I work closely with Panorama Orthopedics and Centura Sports Medicine doctors. Our team doctor is Dr. Robert Michael at Centura Sports Health on the St. Anthony campus. he graciously attends our home football games and is easily accessible to all our student athletes.
My office hours are generally 2:30 - 6:30pm, depending on game schedules.
My office is located in the Large gym near the girls locker rooms.
